Paul has lived in the Southwest United States for over 50 years and photography has been an important part of his life for over 30 years. While he makes his home in Phoenix, Arizona, Paul has traveled extensively throughout Arizona, California, Southern Nevada and Colorado.
Paul comes from a background of talented artists. He is the grandson of Disney artist George Drake, working directly with Walt Disney in 1929 to hire and train new artists for the fledging Disney Studios, and the cousin of Linda S Gunn, a well-known Southern California artist, illustrator and author.
Paul studied architecture in college which developed his creativity and artistic inspiration for landscape photography, which is seen today in the captivating images he produces. Paul’s artistic influences in his photography capture the breathtaking beauty of the American Southwest, as well as inspiring abstracts of the designs and patterns developed by nature.
Paul is an award - winning photographer, recently receiving "Expert Commended" award by Mark Bennett, Editor and judge in a recent Black and White composition, sponsored by Digital Photography magazine. Paul received his award for his Mt. Garfield - Portrait in Black and White composition. Paul also received "Expert Merit" by N-Photo Magazine for his "Aspen Gold" composition.
Paul has been awarded Master Photographer by the Photocrowd.com,, a worldwide photography community, with 210 awards for 179 submitted photographs.
